Tampa Landscape is part of the landscape of Tampa, and continues to display for years to come.
Citing drier-than-normal conditions, the city of Tampa water department has restricted customers to watering their lawns only once a week.
Water department director Brad Baird said the restriction is a result of a declaration by the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
“Conditions continue to be drier than normal across the Tampa Bay area and Tampa is being asked to do its part to keep conditions from worsening,” Baird said. “As we transition to a once-a-week irrigation schedule, we encourage all residents, businesses, and visitors to voluntarily reduce water consumption and eliminate unnecessary and wasteful water use.”
The use of lawn sprinklers and irrigation systems is allowed on the following schedule:
Addresses ending in 0 or 1 may irrigate on Mondays.
Addresses ending in 2 or 3 may irrigate on Tuesdays.
Addresses ending in 4 or 5 may irrigate on Wednesdays.
Addresses ending in 6 or 7 may irrigate on Thursdays.
Addresses ending in 8 or 9 may irrigate on Fridays.
Other changes include:
Hand-watering and micro-irrigation on nonturf may occur any day but must be completed before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
Fountains and other aesthetic water features may operate up to four hours per day, as posted.
Car washing is limited to once per week on the designated watering day for the location.
Pressure washing for aesthetic purposes is limited to once annually and may be accomplished as needed for necessary purposes only.
The restrictions do not affect locations where otherwise restricted activities are being accomplished with reclaimed water.
People who violate the restrictions can be cited for the first offense, and fined up to $450 with mandatory court appearances.

We know how hard it is to take care of all the end of the year issues that come up. Let Lawn Service Tampa take care of your lawn. That is one last thing to worry about. The cleaning up, the new planting and trimming of all your shrubs and trees should be done to provide a neat appearance and a healthier yard for those cold winter months.
The most important time to FERTILIZE is now. Let me repeat that.. The most important time to fertilize is now. This may come as a shock to some of you becuase we are taught that going into summer is. YES that is important but going into winter is by far more important. The reason are the roots. They must be protected from the frost, deeper roots will provide the protection you need. Protect what you have and fertilize. Make sure you don’t forget about watering either. You don’t need to water 2 times a week like during the summer or 45 minutes a zone, but you still should apply water once a week and at least 20 minutes. One of the best examples I can give is 2 years ago.
Remember 2 years ago – 2009 – when everything froze?
Yes we all went through it – those Christmas Tree plants, the Crotons, the Ginger, the plants that we spent good money on to improve our landscape then they all died. Yes that was a terrible feeling some of us have not recovered from. One of the problems we had was SWIFT MUD had everyone so scared to water with out Reclaimed water that we didn’t want to waste any. In doing so we didn’t water our lawns, didn’t water in the fertilizer and had a freeze. Roots should be at least 6″ under the ground and if they are not they can become susceptible to a freeze and the environment. Protect what you have and Fertilize now, and continue to water your lawn during the winter months. Call Lawn Service Tampa to schedule a visit to go over your property and how you can protect your lawn and plants for the winter months.
Rye Seed makes it Green
Apply Rye seed now to give you that nice green coat on your lawn. Don’t apply to thick or it will smother your grass underneath. Another reason you don’t want to over seed is when it does start to come in and you cut it , you will leave a lot of grass behind and take away from the nice carpet look you are going for. Let Lawn Service Tampa apply just the right amount of Rye Seed to your property for that clean carpet look that will make your lawn look like the postcard house for the the Florida Holiday Season.
Today Bill Logan came out to interview Lawn Sculptures on the rising cost of gas prices. Accu-Weather reporter Bill Logan has been with ABC Action News since 2004 and wanted to find out how a company like ours deals with this issue. Chad talked to him about the amount of money every month we put into our trucks and how you need to watch every penny now.
“The cost of gas has gone up over $1.00 in last last 6 months” Chad told Bill, and we don’t’ see any relief anytime soon. We have a surcharge in our contract that states at $3.50 we can add a small fee but we understand everyone is getting hit by this and we have not implemented that yet. Lawn Service Tampa understands everyone is in the same boat. “Everything we do revolves around gas right now, and when that goes up you start seeing it everywhere.”
Gas Prices are not coming down
Bill Logan asked Chad how are you going to deal with this huge problem that faces everyone, not just Lawn companies. The answer isn’t easy but Lawn Sculptures will continue to work hard on every property we have. Watch our budget and streamline were we can. We can not sacrifice great service and our dedication to our customers that count on us week en and week out. Some of our customers rely on us to maintain their yards because they are not physically able to anymore. The price of gas is going up and if it turns into a “Mac N’ Cheese night” to control our budget, Lawn Sculptures will do so.
